Navy Federal Names Chief Technology Officer

VIENNA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Navy Federal Credit Union announced that Sovan Shatpathy has been selected to serve as the credit union’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He will lead the Information Services Department in further improving Navy Federal’s digital member and employee experiences. Shatpathy has more than 20 years of technology management experience working for Fortune 500 corporations across diverse industries. His most recent role was serving as the CTO for Amtrak.

“Our ISD teams are behind nearly all of the technology our members and employees use,” said Tony Gallardy, Chief Information Officer for Navy Federal. “Sovan’s experience will lend a fresh perspective to the credit union and help us continue to build on the service we’re known for.”

Shatpathy will be responsible for Navy Federal’s technology strategy, architecture, enterprise data, integration and software engineering services. Prior to serving as CTO for Amtrak, Shatpathy spent nearly a decade at Cisco serving in various executive leadership roles which spanned across Cisco Services, Cisco IT and consumer business units.
