Kit Check Announces New Sanitization Feature and Medication Tagging Milestone

Company’s RFID solution, now with Sanitization Check feature to better support COVID-19 frontline providers, reaches 100 million medications tagged

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kit Check™, the leader in automated and intelligent medication management solutions, today announced that on the heels of tracking its 100 millionth dose – at OhioHealth Grant Hospital with a 10 ml vial of Sodium Chloride 0.9% – via its RFID-enabled, cloud-based platform, a new feature is now available: Sanitization Check. This feature was created due to the heightened need for infection control protocols amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and will help frontline providers and medical organizations avoid spreading contamination via medication trays.

Sanitization Check serves as an enhancement to customers’ existing systems and is a feature that hospitals can activate during the dispatch of kits and trays. If Sanitization Check is turned on, a checkbox appears that allows pharmacists or technicians to indicate whether a tray has been sanitized. Hospitals can decide whether to make the setting optional or required, and if required, the system will not allow the tray to be dispatched unless the sanitization box has been checked. More than 20 hospitals, many in hot spots like Washington and California, are already using the new feature.
