WP Engine Successfully Completes SOC 2 Type II Examination

The WordPress Digital Experience Platform Meets Security and Availability Standards Set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WP Engine, the WordPress Digital Experience Platform (DXP), today announced that it has successfully completed a Service Organization Control (SOC 2®,) Type II examination for its customer environment and User Portal. The audit, conducted by Holtzman Partners, found that WP Engine meets the SOC 2 standards for Security and Availability Trust Services Categories.

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 requires companies to establish and adhere to strict information security policies and procedures, which can include the security, availability, confidentiality, processing integrity, and privacy of customer data. Independent audits against a common standard, such as SOC 2, ensure that WP Engine’s customers know it meets this standard to securely manage and protect their data. They also have assurances regarding the availability or uptime of WP Engine’s Digital Experience Platform.

“WP Engine approached our SOC 2 efforts, as we do our platform, with an extreme customer-centric mindset,” said Jason Cohen, Founder and Chief Technology Officer at WP Engine. “This meant we focused on the categories most important to our customers—security and availability—and expanded our scope to include not just ‘primary’ systems, but all relevant workflows and systems that could impact our customers and their data. The successful completion of our SOC 2 Type II examination gives customers peace of mind that we’re adhering to strenuous independent standards regarding the secure management and protection of their data as well as regarding the uptime of our platform.”
