Mark Tappan Joins ACS as Chief Engineer

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Assured Consulting Solutions (ACS) today announced that Mark Tappan has joined as the company’s Chief Engineer. Mark builds on his 35 years of system engineering and solution development experience in the Defense and Intelligence markets to advance ACS engineering practices, customer solutions, and business growth. Mark will lead corporate initiatives to enhance and improve the ACS Engineering Practice Area, positioning ACS for growth in new markets while also joining the ACS flagship program, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Enterprise Senior Information Technology Advisors (ESITA) II contract, as a solution architect.

Previously, Mark held Chief Engineering and Chief Architect positions supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in the development of engineering practices, Agile software and systems, data management solutions, and integration of commercial imagery. He led successful technology development and assessment laboratories in a wide range of technical domains including geospatial data processing, scaled agile development, workflow and process management, computer security and cross-domain solutions, and information technology management services.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Western Washington University and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the George Washington University. Mark is a certified Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)® 4 Program Consultant.
