BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Press Ganey today announced the launch of a groundbreaking initiative, Safety 2025: Accelerate to Zero, aimed at reducing patient and caregiver harm by 80% over the next five years. Through this first-of-its-kind program, Press Ganey is making an unprecedented commitment and financial investment in the delivery of safe, highly reliable care by providing all client organizations willing to make the same commitment complimentary access to its HPI Press Ganey Patient Safety Organization (PSO) platform and learning forums, as well as industry-leading education and best practices focused on high reliability and zero harm.
“The patient promise is centered on the delivery of safe care,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Chairman and CEO, Press Ganey. “With 200,000 to 400,000 patient deaths per year attributed to preventable medical errors, we have a moral imperative to do everything we can to reduce harm to patients and caregivers. This critically important initiative removes both financial and educational barriers to sharing and learning from safety events so that together we can drive change, disrupt the industry, and advance our shared commitment to zero harm.”
Safety 2025 will showcase some of the industry’s preeminent thought leaders in safety and high reliability science, including Press Ganey’s Chief Safety and Transformation Officer, Tejal Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, and Press Ganey Strategic Consulting Partner Craig Clapper, PE, CMQ/OE. Through a series of interactive and on-demand learning events, they will share their expertise to partner with and guide clients on their journey to zero harm.
“Safety 2025 is about industry executives leading through words and deeds and declaring a commitment to safety for patients, caregivers, and the communities they serve,” said Carole Stockmeier, Press Ganey Strategic Consulting Partner. “The shared commitment made by Press Ganey and our clients is a fundamental step in optimizing safety that will contribute to the overall industry-wide movement to reduce preventable harm.”
This historic initiative, combined with Press Ganey’s industry-leading strategic consulting services and innovative event reporting and cause analysis solutions, will provide a clear path for clients to foster and sustain a safety culture to advance the industry toward zero harm.
