ACI Worldwide’s Official Payments Improves Online Tax Payment Process with Internal Revenue Service

Taxpayers now able to make payments to the IRS in fewer steps through ACI’s Official Payments

NAPLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACI Worldwide (NASDAQ: ACIW), a leading global provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions, today announced that in working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) again this year, it has further improved the online payment process for taxpayers. By reducing the number of steps to pay online – by half – taxpayers will experience an even faster, more intuitive process when paying their taxes.

ACI’s online bill payment service Official Payments* is the longest-tenured service provider for the IRS and has processed more than $20 billion in IRS tax payments securely for more than 20 consecutive years. As online and mobile bill payments become ubiquitous, ACI’s OfficialPayments.com provides taxpayers with convenient options to quickly and securely view, manage and pay their federal, state and local taxes. More than 80 percent of IRS electronic payments made through Official Payments are conducted online or via a mobile browser.

“When it comes to paying taxes, taxpayers want to complete the process quickly and conveniently,” said Sanjay Gupta, executive vice president, ACI Worldwide. “By making the payment process more efficient, we are ensuring a faster and better payment experience. Official Payments has been used by taxpayers to manage their payments and refunds for more than 20 years and we’re happy to continue our partnership with the IRS to provide an easy, reliable and secure way to pay taxes.”

Bill payments that can be made through ACI’s Official Payments website include the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), 22 state governments, the District of Columbia, more than 2,400 local municipalities and counties across all 50 states and 300 colleges and universities. Consumers can pay federal, state and local property taxes and other bills such as utilities and college tuition with credit cards, debit cards and electronic checks via mobile, online (OfficialPayments.com), telephone, point of sale and other channels.

*Official Payments is a service of ACI Payments, Inc., an ACI Worldwide company.
