California’s Health Data Network Celebrates Dr. Gilbert’s New Role with DHCS

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manifest MedEx applauds Governor Gavin Newsom’s appointment of Bradley P. Gilbert, M.D., as the director of the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).

Dr. Gilbert is a long-time advocate of interoperability to support better patient care. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Manifest MedEx. The organization supports clinical and claims data sharing for 19 million Californians, giving providers and plans the insights they need to improve healthcare, reduce costs, and enhance health.

Dr. Gilbert believes in the power of data and technology to improve health for the most vulnerable Californians. He is deeply committed to the Medi-Cal program — now covering 1 in 3 Californians — and its role supporting and lifting the lives of our families and communities.
