FRESNO, Calif.--()--Netafim USA, a subsidiary of Netafim Ltd. – the global leader of smart irrigation solutions, has announced the rebrand of its Fowler, CA-based recycling center to Netafim ReGen Recycling. The rebrand comes on the heels of the successful launch of Netafim’s Streamline X ReGen dripline and the receipt of a $2.01 million grant from the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).

“The rebrand of our recycling center to Netafim ReGen Recycling represents the latest in a series of significant steps forward in our commitment to sustainability. This specific solution helps to minimize the environmental impact of farming through a complete, end-to-end, closed-loop dripline recycling solution,” said Mike Hemman, President and CEO of Netafim USA.

Netafim USA first pioneered the process of utilizing recycled content in the manufacturing of driplines as a way to meet LEED green building rating and certification requirements. After opening its California-based recycling facility in 2007, Netafim made significant investments in research and testing. These investments allowed Netafim to perfect a proprietary process that enables the use of recycled content in the manufacturing of driplines without sacrificing performance and quality standards. In March 2019, Netafim took the bold step of introducing the industry’s first agriculture dripline containing recycled content with the launch of Streamline X ReGen.

Earlier in the year, Netafim USA was awarded a $2.01 million grant to fund the expansion of Netafim ReGen Recycling’s closed-loop operation. This expansion will enable the company to collect, shred, wash, and pelletize an additional 9,612 tons per year of used irrigation tubing at the end of the material’s useful life.

“A sustainable supply chain is the backbone of today’s agricultural economy. We are committed to taking decisive and strategic steps to improve sustainable agricultural practices, optimize yields, and improve the livelihoods of farmers today and for generations to come,” added Hemman.
