PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blink Health, the app that lets people get their prescription medication at much lower prices, announces it is opening a new office in Pittsburgh as the company continues its rapid expansion. The new office will support the company’s mission of providing Americans the best prices available on their prescriptions.
Michael Nameth, Executive Vice President of Cloud & Specialty Pharmacy, will serve as the Executive Lead for the Pittsburgh office. Nameth has more than 30 years of experience in several key areas of healthcare, including specialty pharmacy, pharmacy benefit management and managed care. Before joining Blink in 2018, Nameth was Chief Executive Officer at national specialty pharmacy Aureus Health Services and also previously served as Executive Vice President for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy and President of WellPoint’s PBM.
The new office, which will accommodate more than 70 employees, will help expand Blink Health’s online pharmacy programs. The company plans to draw from a deep pool of local talent in Pittsburgh to fill engineering and pharmacy specialist roles. The new hires will be responsible for helping ensure Blink users have seamless access to the lowest prices on their prescription medications and all the support they need to stay adherent.
“As Blink continues to grow, Pittsburgh was a natural fit for expansion,” said Blink Health CEO and co-founder Geoffrey Chaiken. “The surrounding area is an epicenter for the type of top-tier tech and pharmacy talent we’re looking for to help us solve the nation’s drug pricing crisis.”
“Blink’s mission is to ensure that every American has access to the medications they need to live safe, healthy lives,” said Nameth. “By opening this new office in Pittsburgh, Blink has proven it is committed to bolstering and building the talented teams that drive our mission forward.”
The new space is Blink’s fourth office, with others located in New York, Boston and St. Louis. The property will feature an open-plan layout, which is reflective of Blink’s collaborative and team-oriented environment and leading corporate culture.
To help scale the business and accommodate its explosive growth, Blink also recently added three Amazon veterans, Bharath Chinamanthur, Christopher Plambeck and Madan Nagaldinne, for senior executive positions.
