On September 21, 2018, Specsavers had reported that Specsavers Blacktown (NSW) had become the 200th store in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) to have OCT technology.

Specsavers has also noted that in Australia, the detection rate of glaucoma has doubled with the result that as of this year, the number of patients that have been referred for glaucoma had increased by 10,300 when compared to 2017 referrals.
