AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pivot3, the hyperconverged infrastructure performance and technology leader, today announced that is has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. as a Challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
The report states, “Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is a category of scale-out software-integrated infrastructure that applies a modular approach to compute, network and storage on standard hardware, leveraging distributed, horizontal building blocks under unified management.” In total, 12 HCI vendors were evaluated based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. The report included both software-only vendors and those who provide fully-configured HCI appliances.
“We believe our position in the first-ever Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure clearly signifies our ability to compete in this market, and feel that is a testament to the dedication, responsiveness, services, and support our customers value. To us, it’s quite an achievement to be recognized as a Challenger,” said Ron Nash, CEO, Pivot3. “We’re striving to provide a diverse portfolio and we’re executing a vision that delivers innovative solutions to the most challenging enterprise environments. Our customers have learned that when they have a need for large-scale, high-performance HCI deployments, Pivot3 is the place to go.”
During 2017, Pivot3 experienced 62-percent growth in sales, with new customers, expansion into use cases such as Internet of Things applications and smart cities, and significant growth among enterprise applications and mixed application workload environments. Much of this growth is attributed to the April 2017 launch of Acuity, the industry’s only policy-based HCI platform with advanced Quality of Service and NVMe flash performance, broadened partnerships with Lenovo and other strategic partners, and continued penetration into streaming media and IoT use cases.
“In our view, it’s exciting to be included in the Magic Quadrant based on our ability to execute and completeness of vision. We see our placement as a Challenger as a testament to our agility, innovation and responsiveness to the evolving needs of enterprise IT,” said Nash. “With our proven technology for mixed workload support and policy-based management controls, customers know they can count on Pivot3 to continue to deliver industry-leading technology innovation in HCI, and high-performance solutions when and where they need them.”
