WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--StudentUniverse, the world’s leading travel booking site for students and youth, today announced the launch of its Work Abroad program. The program provides an opportunity for 18-30 year old US citizens with a high school diploma or GED to work abroad for up to 12 months using the Working Holiday Visa in Australia or New Zealand.
“In 2014, over 4,000 visas were granted to Americans going to Australia alone, a 13 percent increase since 2012. We see work abroad as an experience that is going to be a part of many young people’s professional journey. Students not only gain valuable, international work experience, but are making good money while they are abroad and are given the opportunity to travel as part of their experience,” said Jim Zambrano, director of land product, StudentUniverse. “Our programs in Australia and New Zealand are just the tip of the iceberg. Programs in Ireland, South Korea and Singapore are also being worked on and we look forward to expanding this program even further.”
Through the Work Abroad program, StudentUniverse sets students up to transition to their lives abroad by providing a number of services to students before they leave and throughout their experience abroad. StudentUniverse can help students to secure their Working Holiday Visa, job placements before they leave the United States and a discounted student flight to help students get abroad for less.
The Work Abroad program also provides airport transfers, 5-7 night hostel accommodations, free wi-fi, a local guide, organized social activities, some meals, a bank account, tax ID, mobile phone SIM card, mail holding and forwarding setup and assistance from StudentUniverse’s in-country teams with securing longer term accommodations. For students who are interested in working in hospitality, customer service, labor/construction or gardening/landscaping positions in Australia, the Work Abroad Pro package will also secure the specific job placement before students travel abroad.
