FSA Joint Venture Announces 10-Year Anniversary in Support of DOJ

ASHBURN, Va.--()--Forfeiture Support Associates (FSA), LLC, a joint venture between Engility Corporation and AECOM, announced today that it is marking 10 years of business operations in support of the Department of Justice (DOJ) Asset Forfeiture Program (AFPS) and the federal law enforcement community.

The joint venture supports the participant agencies in the DOJ Asset Forfeiture Program, which encompasses the seizure and forfeiture of assets that represent the proceeds of, or were used to facilitate federal crimes.

Since winning the contract in 2004, FSA has been recognized as a strong partner to the federal law enforcement community, providing cost effective investigative and litigation support from complex financial investigations to administrative services. FSA’s forensic investigative and auditing capabilities are increasingly recognized as an essential component to resolving complex investigations related to international money laundering, health care fraud and the defeat of efforts to defraud the U.S. Government.

FSA provides the DOJ program with professional, administrative and clerical services, employing nearly 1,700 professionals at more than 700 federal law enforcement agency sites, including 92 United States Attorneys' offices. The current contract, which is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) award, has a ceiling value of $1.66 billion if all options are exercised.

“The FSA joint venture was created to provide federal law enforcement support that closely aligned with our DOJ and other Federal customer needs,” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility’s president and chief executive officer. “We are extremely pleased with the close working relationship we have established with the multiple law enforcement agencies and are proud to have partnered with them and supported their mission successes.”

FSA is expanding its presence within the federal law enforcement community in providing cost-effective litigation and investigative support services.

“Our forensic investigative and auditing capabilities offer an essential component of success in a myriad of complex criminal investigations including international money laundering and health care fraud,” said Mike Donnelly, AECOM’s group chief executive, global support services. “Over the last 10 years through our proven performance, we have built a trusted relationship with our DOJ partner allowing us to further enhance our offering.”

FSA is expanding its services within the DOJ Financial Litigation Unit, supporting asset recovery for the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) and their 94 Districts. Similarly, the joint venture provides forensic investigative support to the Department of Transportation’s Inspector General in furtherance of a variety of complex investigations to defeat intricate schemes aimed at defrauding the United States Government.
