SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Jungo, an NDS Group Company, and a leading provider of gateway and remote management solutions for broadband home service offerings, today announced that its OpenRG residential gateway software, deployed in 40 million broadband gateway devices, is entering its sixth generation with the release of OpenRG version 6. With this latest release, service providers and CPE vendors can take advantage of extensive IPv6 support, certified DLNA digital media server, cellular WAN support, Broadband Forum’s next generation TR-181 data model, parental control service integration and more.

OpenRG version 6 supports service providers’ migration to IPv6 with significant enhancements across gateway functions - including core networking, quality of service, firewall, packet acceleration, local web-based management and remote management - to allow seamless operation in mixed IPv4 and IPv6 environments. This complete dual stack router solution allows operators to upgrade their networks gradually without needing to modify or replace their CPE.

Deployed on 40 million gateway devices by leading service providers and CPE vendors around the world, including in the Middle East, Europe, the US and Asia Pacific, OpenRG is built on Jungo’s extensive experience and technology leadership in the home broadband arena. OpenRG software is hardware independent, shortening new platform release cycles and ensuring simpler support and uniform deployment on in-field CPE devices.

“OpenRG version 6 is based on our experience with Cable, DSL and FTTx service providers and the needs of the market leading CPE vendors,” said Eran Rom, CEO, Jungo. “Broadband service providers realize that to face the digital home challenge they need to provide seamless connectivity, compelling connected home services and a unified end user experience across services. Our goal is to best serve service providers with a platform that enables simple service creation and support while integrating the latest broadband networking standards and technologies.”
