John R. Bolton Joins the Board of EMS Technologies

ATLANTA--()--The Board of Directors of EMS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELMG) announces that the Honorable John R. Bolton, formerly United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has been appointed to the Company’s Board.

John B. ’Jack’ Mowell, Chairman of the Board, stated, “We are honored to have an individual of Ambassador Bolton’s experience and strong international stature join our Board of Directors. In addition to his service as our Nation’s Ambassador to the United Nations, he has served in the recent Bush Administration as Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. During the earlier Bush Administration he also served in several high-level positions, including Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, and as an Assistant Attorney General in the United States Justice Department. His non-governmental positions include Senior Vice president of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and most recently, Senior Fellow at the Institute, focusing on foreign policy and international organizations.”

Mowell continued, “At EMS, we place great emphasis on identifying expertise in disciplines that are crucial to the achievement of our long-term strategies and our corporate goals. I have known Ambassador Bolton for quite some time, as both a friend and a colleague at the AEI and the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) in Washington, D.C., and have witnessed first-hand his broad knowledge, his energy, and the excellent rapport he enjoys with international leaders. John’s ‘can-do’ attitude and exceptional career achievements and experience will fit nicely into the EMS policy-making structure.”

Bolton stated, “I look forward to joining the EMS Board and working with Jack, the EMS Board and management team. In recent weeks, I have been familiarizing myself with the Company’s businesses, and its depth and scope of complex technologies. I find EMS to be a company which is rich in technology-based resources, combined with highly advanced engineering expertise and a keen perception as to where communications technology is headed in future years. I am pleased to be joining the Board, not only because of these compelling qualities and attributes, but also due to my respect for the Company’s potential in addressing high-priority security requirements. Above all, I believe I can make a serious contribution in working with EMS to help achieve its corporate mission.”
