DIRECTV, Inc., provider of the nation's leading digital multichannel television service, today announced that WAPA-America, one of Puerto Rico's premier networks for news, movies and original programming, will make its U.S. debut on the DIRECTV PARA TODOS(R) programming platform this September. WAPA-America will utilize the content of WAPA-TV in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which is owned and operated by LIN TV Corp. (NYSE:TVL). DIRECTV will be the exclusive satellite TV provider of the new network through Jan. 31, 2006, and it will be available to all DIRECTV PARA TODOS customers at no additional cost.

"SuperXclusivo," the #1 show in Puerto Rico, is co-hosted by Hector Travieso and Leo Fernandez III, a bold paparazzo who presents daily videos and interviews. Programming will also include more than 42 hours of news each week, produced by the Noticentro 4 news team, which brings the best live coverage in Puerto Rico for breaking news, weather, traffic, medical, consumer and international news, as well as investigative reports.
