According to StickerGiant, anti-George Bush stickers outsell pro-George Bush stickers three to one. Anti-George Bush stickers occupy four of the top 10 spots, while pro-George Bush stickers hold just one top-ten position. The top best seller is the "LET'S NOT ELECT HIM IN 2004 EITHER" bumper sticker.
"Bumper stickers traditionally have been a means of expression for the opposition," says John Fischer, founder of StickerGiant. "This factor contributes to the progressive slant of sticker sales this year."
On the conservative side of the best sellers list, "BUSH CHENEY '04" holds the top spot followed by, "ANNOY A LIBERAL, WORK HARD AND BE HAPPY." As Senator Ted Kennedy becomes more visible on the national political scene, anti-Ted sentiment seems to be growing. The sticker stating, "TED KENNEDY'S CAR HAS KILLED MORE PEOPLE THAN MY GUN," has moved from obscurity into the fourth spot on the conservative best sellers list.
Humorous stickers are still very popular, with an unexpected leap from a new title, "CAN'T SLEEP. CLOWNS WILL EAT ME," which shot to second place just behind the top best seller on the humorous best sellers list, "SHUT UP HIPPY."
Sales of child-themed stickers also are up this year with Finding Nemo stickers still topping the children's best sellers list, followed by Sponge Bob Square Pants and Yu-Gi-Oh.
