Fortitude Re Donates $200,000 to Cumberland River Compact to Support Environmental Education and Healthier Waterways

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fortitude Re today announced a $200,000 donation to Cumberland River Compact through Fortitude Re 4 Good, the company’s umbrella for charitable giving, volunteerism and community partnerships. The company presented the contribution during a volunteer tree-planting event at LEAD Cameron Middle School in Nashville’s Chestnut Hill neighborhood.

Cumberland River Compact brings together education, community engagement and hands-on conservation to support healthier waterways across the Cumberland River basin. Its work includes environmental learning opportunities for students and teachers, tree planting and stream restoration.

“Supporting the communities where we live and work means investing in their future,” said Amanda Stewart, SVP, Employee Experience and Head of Fortitude Re 4 Good. “Cumberland River Compact helps people understand the connection between a healthy environment and a thriving community, then gives them practical ways to make a difference. We are proud to support that work and the opportunities it creates for people across Middle Tennessee.”

Fortitude Re’s donation will help expand environmental and educational initiatives across Middle Tennessee, increasing green space, improving water quality, and enhancing environmental awareness in the community.

“Partnerships like this help turn community commitment into meaningful action,” said Mekayle Houghton, Executive Director, Cumberland River Compact. “Fortitude Re’s support will help us engage more people in caring for our waterways and give the next generation the knowledge and experiences to become stewards of the environment.”

Through Fortitude Re 4 Good, the company supports organizations that create lasting value in the communities where its colleagues live and work. Its partnership with Cumberland River Compact reflects that commitment by supporting environmental education and opportunities for community involvement.
