Affinity Federal Credit Union Launches the Affinity Wellbeing Institute on National Wellbeing Day

Affinity Federal Credit Union reinforces its mission of supporting members' overall wellbeing with the launch of the Affinity Wellbeing Institute and an inaugural holiday that encourages people to take stock of their full wellbeing picture

BASKING RIDGE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) has launched the Affinity Wellbeing Institute (“AWI”), an organization that brings the credit union's financial education, wellbeing coaching and community partnership work together under one roof. The launch coincides with the debut of National Wellbeing Day, a new annual observance created by the AWI and celebrated on Nov. 2, with 2026 as its inaugural year.

Wellbeing is central to Affinity’s mission, ensuring its members and the communities it serves have access to the education, resources and tools needed to meet their wellbeing goals. This focus has expanded well beyond financial wellbeing to include physical, social, career and community health. As part of the mission, Affinity has:

  • Trained and certified over 100 team members as Wellbeing Coaches
  • Created educational resources, including an extensive article library and the Wellbeing and Your Wallet Podcast
  • Developed annual indexes on summer vacation and holiday season spending, outlining the financial, emotional and community impact of these annual events
  • Hosted community events and webinars, including Financial Reality Fairs that bring essential financial skills to high school and college-age individuals
  • Formed partnerships to advise on estate planning assistance through Legal Karma, and free credit counseling through Navicore Solutions
  • Honored the wellbeing legacy built throughout its communities in the annual Affinity Wellbeing Awards, which recognizes individuals and organizations improving their community’s wellbeing

AWI will extend these and other initiatives to continue to unite all aspects of wellbeing and support its communities with education, research, content, resources and experiences. These tools give members and communities actionable approaches to their wellbeing.

"Wellbeing does not live in one category of a person's life," said Grant Gallagher, Founder & Executive Director, Affinity Wellbeing Institute. "A stressful job, a health scare or a disconnected community can shake someone's financial stability just as much as a bank balance can. AWI will serve as a centralized source for our community to find trusted, judgment-free resources for every part of their lives."

To celebrate the launch of the Affinity Wellbeing Institute, the organization created National Wellbeing Day. To be celebrated annually on Nov. 2nd, the observance is a day to pause and take stock of the full picture of personal wellbeing, including the connections among financial, physical, career, social and community health. It encourages people to recognize that lasting wellbeing comes from addressing these areas together rather than in isolation. The day calls on individuals to take one concrete step toward better wellbeing, whether that is reviewing a budget, scheduling a health screening, updating an estate plan, reconnecting with a neighbor or simply learning something new.

"Affinity has always measured success by how our members are doing, and that reaches well beyond their accounts with us," said Kevin Brauer, President and CEO of Affinity Federal Credit Union. "National Wellbeing Day extends that belief to everyone with one simple invitation: take a single step toward better wellbeing today.”
