GoFundMe Names Stephanie Parks Chief Compliance Officer

Former Fiserv executive brings more than 20 years of compliance and risk management experience to the global fundraising platform

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GoFundMe today announced that Stephanie Parks has joined the company as Chief Compliance Officer. Parks brings more than 20 years of experience leading compliance and risk programs across payments and financial services, most recently as Chief Compliance Officer at Fiserv.

In her new role, Parks will lead the next evolution of GoFundMe’s global compliance strategy, strengthening regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, and governance across the platform. She joins as GoFundMe invests further in the systems and expertise that enable innovation, reinforce trust, and support growth worldwide.

“People come to GoFundMe at moments that matter deeply to them. They trust us with their stories, their generosity, and their support for others, and we have a responsibility to earn that trust every day,” said Tim Cadogan, CEO of GoFundMe. “Stephanie has spent her career building strong compliance programs in complex, highly regulated environments. Her experience will be invaluable as we advance our global compliance program, enhance platform infrastructure, and uphold the trust our community places in us. When platforms invest in earning and protecting trust, everyone who turns to the internet to give, receive, or find help, benefits.”

Parks brings broad experience overseeing compliance across global payments and financial services, from institutional and consumer banking to broker-dealer activities and businesses serving merchants of all sizes. At Fiserv, she oversaw regulatory matters for the company and, following its merger with First Data, led the integration and continued development of its compliance program. Earlier at First Data, she played an integral role in transforming compliance and controls across its merchant and issuer businesses. She previously held compliance leadership roles at Citi spanning treasury & trade solutions, private banking and wealth management.

Earlier in her career, Parks spent five years in the nonprofit sector, managing economic policy and risk management work funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. Working with government partners in Indonesia and other countries, she supported efforts to combat corruption and improve economic outcomes. That experience shaped her belief in the power of collaboration to advance shared goals, a perspective she brings to GoFundMe’s mission of helping people help each other.

“I began my career in the nonprofit sector, so joining a mission-driven company like GoFundMe feels like a return to my roots,” said Parks. “GoFundMe is dedicated to helping people help each other and trust both makes that work possible and is the foundation of a strong compliance program. I’m excited to bring my experience to a team that understands the responsibility of earning and protecting that trust every day.”

GoFundMe’s global Trust & Safety and Compliance teams work to identify risks, prevent misuse and financial crime, and uphold the company’s regulatory responsibilities. Their efforts are supported by innovative technology and secure payment processing, alongside community protections such as the GoFundMe Giving Guarantee. Parks’s appointment is part of GoFundMe’s continued commitment to strengthen its foundation and protect the integrity of the platform as its community grows.

Parks holds a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College and is a founding member of the New York Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists.
