Firehawk Defense Announces Oversubscribed $150M+ Series D at Over $1.4B Valuation to Scale American Propulsion Manufacturing

Round led by Advent and Rochefort Asset Management; deal values Firehawk at over $1.4 billion

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Firehawk Defense (“Firehawk” or “the Company”), a defense technology leader specializing in advanced energetics and propulsion, today announced the closing of an upsized and oversubscribed Series D financing, with more than $150M raised at a more than $1.4 billion valuation, led by Advent and Rochefort Asset Management. Additional investments were made by new and existing investors and strategic partners.

The new capital will fund the continued build-out of Firehawk’s patented propulsion manufacturing, including its production facility in Lawton, Oklahoma and its missile integration facility in Crawford, Mississippi, and will help accelerate the scale-up of the company’s production of artillery motors, solid rocket motors, energetics and propellant. These funds will also drive Firehawk’s development of additional research and development sites and support expanded headcount.

“This financing lets us turn a manufacturing breakthrough into production capacity the warfighter can count on,” said Will Edwards, CEO and Founder of Firehawk. “It funds the next phase of production at volume. We are on a mission to make American strength inexhaustible and we’re proud to have this continued vote of confidence as we do it.”

“Deterrence is not a talking point, it depends on whether America can build and replenish the weapons systems it needs, at the speed the moment demands,” said Kyle Bass, Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Rochefort Asset Management. “Firehawk solves the problem at the source: inside the factory. Firehawk exemplifies the kind of innovative production capacity this country needs more of, and we are excited to help them accelerate production.”

Firehawk’s patented propellant manufacturing process replaces traditional batch mixing, casting and curing, which can take weeks, with a thermoplastic process that produces energetic feedstock in hours. That feedstock can then be stored or rapidly formed into application-specific propellant grains through compression molding, extrusion or 3D printing. This eliminates lengthy curing cycles and batch-reliability issues, enabling faster, safer, more flexible production at volume. By the end of 2027, Firehawk expects to be the largest producer of artillery motors and third largest producer of propellant in the U.S.

“Firehawk is solving one of the most critical bottlenecks in the American missile supply chain. Its manufacturing approach is genuinely novel and has already won strong traction with both the primes and the end users. We’re proud to partner with and support the team as they strengthen the American industrial base,” said Shonnel Malani, Managing Partner at Advent.

In May 2026, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) signed a teaming agreement with Firehawk to accelerate development and production of 155mm base bleed motors for extended range, pairing Firehawk’s thermoplastic propellant and compression-molding technology with GD-OTS’s metal-parts production and munitions-integration expertise.

Firehawk’s current capability portfolio also includes next-generation rocket-assisted projectile (NG-RAP) motors, rocket-assisted takeoff (RATO) motors, solid rocket motors in sub-10” diameter classes, missile integration, research and development, and additional energetics.

In August 2026, Firehawk conducted a live-fire test of Hydra-70 rockets built at its Crawford, Mississippi integration facility, achieving a 100% success rate at Yuma Proving Ground. The test followed a U.S. Army Other Transaction Authority award to Firehawk as part of an effort to diversify the Hydra-70 rocket supply chain. In a public release statement, the U.S. Army said annual procurements of the Hydra-70, “have ranged in excess of 330,000 rockets,” depending on operational requirements and that “Army aviation units alone expend 117,000 [Hydra-70] rounds annually in training.”

The financing follows a series of recent investments in Firehawk’s platform, including an oversubscribed $60 million Series C round that closed in September 2025 and a strategic investment in November 2025 to accelerate solid rocket motor production and integration.

About Firehawk Defense

Firehawk Defense is the propulsion company built for the age of volume. Our mission is to make American strength inexhaustible, ensuring that production, replenishment, and capacity never become the reason America and its allies have to compromise the mission.

We engineer past the material and manufacturing limits of legacy propulsion, replacing traditional cast-and-cure processes with a continuous thermoplastic manufacturing platform, then scale that advantage from propellant to motors to complete rounds. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas with a 320-acre propellant and motor production facility in Lawton, Oklahoma, and a DCMA-rated rocket system integration facility in Mississippi. Firehawk conducts R&D, static fire and flight testing at two West Texas sites, including a 30-square-mile launch range.
