Virtana Launches Agentic Observability Enterprise Management, Ushering in a New Era of Collaborative AI Agents for Autonomous IT
Powered by MCP and Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, new capabilities transform the traditional IT war room into a team of Virtana and third-party AI agents that diagnose, remediate, and govern complex incidents in milliseconds
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Virtana, provider of the deepest and broadest Agentic Observability Platform, today introduced Agentic Observability Enterprise Management (AOEM), enabling Virtana’s AI agents to autonomously assemble teams of specialized agents from across the enterprise to manage the full IT incident lifecycle, from initial signal through root cause analysis, remediation, and verified resolution.
"We're bringing agents from across the enterprise together with the intelligence and coordination to tackle the most complex IT challenges at machine speed. That's how enterprises move toward truly autonomous operations at scale." Paul Appleby, Virtana CEO

When an issue arises, Virtana's AI agents use Model Context Protocol (MCP) and the open Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to enlist other agents with the expertise and tools needed to solve it, whether from IT service management, cloud infrastructure, security, or software development platforms. These agents share more than 25,000 signals, investigate problems together, coordinate decisions, and execute governed remediation. What once required teams of engineers working across multiple systems can now be accomplished by a coordinated workforce of AI agents operating in milliseconds. Engineers stay in the loop, and enterprise policy determines which actions require human approval.
“The future of autonomous IT belongs to enterprises with the highest Agentic IQ, the collective intelligence of AI agents that understand the entire business, reason across complex systems, and work together to solve problems no single agent could solve alone,” said Paul Appleby, CEO of Virtana. “We're bringing agents from across the enterprise together with the intelligence and coordination to tackle the most complex IT challenges at machine speed. That's how enterprises move toward truly autonomous operations at scale.”
Enterprises are deploying AI agents inside their ITSM, software development, cloud, and security platforms, and each agent sees its own part of the environment. When an incident crosses those domains, engineers still pull findings from each tool and piece together cause and impact by hand. AOEM gives those agents a shared map of how systems depend on one another, through Virtana’s System Dependency Graph, introduced in February, and a direct way to work the problem together. Since it runs on open protocols, enterprises can bring in agents from the platforms they already use.
Virtana Agentic Observability Enterprise Management Advances Agents From Understanding to Collaboration and Action
Virtana’s System-Aware MCP Server gives AI agents access to 25,000+ real-time operational metrics across applications, infrastructure, cloud and AI factories. This deep intelligence makes agents smarter, enabling them to understand system dependencies, pinpoint root causes and assess business impact with unprecedented precision.
AOEM takes the next step by adding an orchestration layer on top of it.
AOEM introduces four key capabilities:
- Agents that recruit other agents. When Virtana identifies a problem, its agents can enlist specialized third-party agents with the expertise and tools needed to help resolve it. An infrastructure agent might engage a code agent to investigate a recent deployment, a security agent to evaluate risk or an ITSM agent to coordinate incident response.
- Autonomous agentic war rooms. Specialized agents from Virtana and third-party platforms come together around a shared problem, exchange findings and coordinate investigations in milliseconds. Each agent contributes its own expertise while Virtana provides the system-wide operational intelligence needed to understand dependencies, root cause and business impact.
- Coordinated remediation from detection to verified fix. Agents move beyond diagnosis to jointly plan and execute remediation across multiple systems. One agent might identify a failing service, another roll back a deployment and another update the incident record. Virtana verifies that performance has recovered, completing the lifecycle from first signal to resolution.
- Enterprise governance across every agent. Enterprise-defined policies determine which agents can participate, what actions they can perform and when human approval is required. Every decision and action is auditable, with controls for agent activity, token consumption and operational costs.
From Human War Rooms to Agentic War Rooms
Consider an application experiencing a sudden performance degradation. A third-party AI agent detects the issue and discovers Virtana’s Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Agent through A2A. It asks the RCA Agent to investigate the problem, drawing on Virtana’s 25,000+ operational metrics and system-wide intelligence. The RCA Agent identifies a database bottleneck following a recent software deployment and explains the underlying cause and business impact.
The third-party agent can then ask follow-up questions, retrieve additional diagnostic insights and coordinate corrective actions with other specialized agents. Together, the agents execute remediation under enterprise-defined policies and verify that application performance has returned to normal.
“Traditional IT war rooms take hours to assemble teams, diagnose problems and coordinate fixes. Agentic war rooms assemble specialized AI agents that share intelligence, resolve issues and disband in milliseconds,” said Amitkumar Rathi, Chief Product Officer of Virtana. “MCP gives agents enterprise-wide intelligence, while A2A enables them to discover, collaborate and act together as a coordinated, governed workforce.”
Human-in-the-loop Governance Gives IT Teams Control Over AI Agent Autonomy
Enterprises can start with AOEM in recommendation mode, where agents investigate and propose fixes for engineers to carry out. From there, they can move to approval-based remediation and then allow agents to act on their own for defined classes of incidents as confidence grows. Teams can progressively expand autonomy, beginning with AI-driven recommendations, advancing to approval-based remediation and ultimately enabling agents to resolve issues autonomously within enterprise-defined guardrails.
By combining full-stack operational intelligence with agent-to-agent collaboration and lifecycle orchestration, Virtana is advancing autonomous IT from individual agents performing isolated tasks to coordinated teams of agents responsible for delivering outcomes across the enterprise.
Agentic Observability Enterprise Management is available now to select customers, with general availability planned for Q1 2027.
