Kohl’s Helps Provide 10 Million Meals to Families Nationwide This Holiday Season

Retailer supports local food banks across the country with a $1 million donation to Feeding America

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS) today announced a $1 million donation to Feeding America to help address food insecurity and support family health and well-being during the holiday season. This gift will directly support Feeding America partners across the country, helping local food banks stock their shelves and provide 10 million meals to families.

“We are proud to partner with Feeding America this holiday season to help address food insecurity across the country," said Jennie Kent, chief legal and corporate affairs officer at Kohl’s. "By working directly with local food banks, our donation will help Feeding America provide millions of meals in communities nationwide, ensuring families have access to the food they need."

According to Feeding America, nearly 48 million people, including more than 14 million children, experience food insecurity. This contribution will help food banks meet sustained demand and connect neighbors with fresh, nourishing food during the holidays and beyond.

“The holidays are a time for connection, traditions and sharing meals with the people we love,” said Lisa Mann, chief development officer at Feeding America. “Thanks to Kohl’s generous $1 million gift and the commitment of their associate volunteers, food banks across the Feeding America network can help keep nourishing food within reach for neighbors this season. Together, we’re helping bring greater certainty and stability to families and helping ensure everyone has a place at the table.”

Hands-On Support in Local Communities

Alongside these donations, Kohl’s associates across the country are stepping up throughout October and November by providing hands-on volunteer support to help local food banks prepare for the busy holiday season. To give back even more, Kohl’s Cares® is doubling its donation for every hour an associate volunteers to $50 an hour when associates volunteer at a Feeding America partner food bank during these two months.

For example, in regions like southwestern Pennsylvania—where one in six children faces hunger—Kohl’s associates will volunteer on-site at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, to help serve neighbors at the onsite food pantry.

The impact of these food access programs is felt deeply by local families. As one community member who visits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank shared: “Sometimes you run out of milk and add a little bit of water to it, just to make a bowl of cereal. Getting fresh essentials like milk, eggs, produce, and meat through the food bank is such a lifeline, and I cried the first time because it was so emotional. You don’t realize how much you’re getting until you’re there.”

A Long-Term Commitment to Healthy Families and Communities

Over the past several decades, Kohl’s has donated more than $935 million to organizations across the country that champion healthier, stronger communities. Through the Kohl’s Cares Goods For Good® merchandise program, Kohl’s donates 100% of net profits to nonprofits nationwide that support family well-being, turning everyday shopping into meaningful community impact.

*$1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local partner food banks.
