Cyera Earns FedRAMP® High (Class D) Certified Status, Clearing the Way for Federal Agencies to Safely Adopt Agentic AI

Accelerated by significant agency demand and multiple Authorizations to Operate (ATOs), Cyera has rapidly achieved the highest security bar available to federal agencies, extending its AI Security platform to the nation's most sensitive, FISMA High-impact data.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--While AI is reshaping how organizations operate, trust in the data powering it becomes the most critical layer of security. Nowhere is that more true than in government, where agencies are stewards of the nation's most sensitive data, safeguarding national security, critical infrastructure, and the personal information of every citizen. And as those agencies scale AI, the platforms behind that data must meet the government's highest standard for security and prove they can be trusted, ensuring agencies the ability to move at the same pace as AI adoption itself.

Cyera today announced it has achieved FedRAMP Class D Certified status, the designation formerly known as FedRAMP High. Completed months after Cyera's “In Process” listing, compared with the program's typical 12-to-18 month timeline, the certification clears the most rigorous security bar available to federal agencies for FISMA High-impact data.

“Federal agencies aren't experimenting with AI anymore, they're scaling it into agentic systems that touch their most sensitive missions,” said Lamont Orange, Chief Trust Officer at Cyera. “This approval process set a high bar, proving how we secure the platform, how we operate it, and how we respond under real scrutiny. That same rigor carries over for every customer we serve, including those in banking, healthcare, and other highly regulated industries.”

AI Security Now Built for the Federal Mission

Federal agencies have spent recent years working toward a Zero Trust architecture as defined by OMB M-22-09, which requires continuous, identity- and data-centric verification in place of legacy perimeter defense. The OMB's 2025 memo on federal AI use (M-25-21) pushes agencies to adopt AI quickly while proving they can govern it, raising the stakes on the data and identity programs that Zero Trust already demands. Meeting that bar has typically meant running separate tools for identity, data protection, and AI oversight, and Cyera’s AI Security platform brings these controls together as one, working from the same business context in real-time.

Cyera for Government runs the same platform architecture it's built for global enterprises, now operating inside the FedRAMP boundary. Cyera's Data Security discovers, classifies, and protects sensitive data; Identity Security secures every human, machine, and service account touching that data; and Agent Security controls what AI agents can do with it in real time. One platform answers both mandates at once with continuous, data-centric verification for Zero Trust, and real-time control over AI-agent access for AI governance.

For federal security leaders, that means always knowing who or what can touch their most sensitive data, understanding the intent behind that access and being able to prove it on demand.

Cyera Announces $400 Million Investment from Goldman Sachs to Build the Trust Layer for the Agentic Enterprise

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AI agents are becoming the new enterprise workforce, promising enormous gains in productivity, speed, and innovation. Unlike traditional software, they reason, use identities, call tools, access sensitive data, and take action autonomously at machine speed. The more access agents have, the more valuable they become and the greater the risk when that access is compromised or misaligned with business intent. That combination makes agents one of the fastest-growing secur...
