Wells Fargo Announces Kleber Santos to Lead Consumer Banking and Lending; Saul Van Beurden to Lead AI for the Company

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced that Kleber Santos will become CEO of Consumer Banking and Lending (CBL), and Saul Van Beurden will focus exclusively on leading AI across Wells Fargo. The two executives have served as co-CEOs of CBL since its formation last year, while Van Beurden also established and has led the company’s AI efforts.

“We have significant opportunities to grow our consumer businesses and to use AI to transform how we operate and serve our customers,” said Charlie Scharf, Chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo. “Kleber and Saul have built strong momentum in both areas, and having each focus fully on these priorities will help us accelerate that progress.”

Santos will assume full responsibility for CBL, building on growth across Consumer Deposits, Credit Cards, Business Banking, and Auto lending.

Van Beurden will focus on building Wells Fargo’s capabilities for enterprise-scale AI adoption, working closely with Bridget Engle, head of Technology, and with our business leaders to drive transformation across the company, and on strengthening the company’s work with leading AI companies.

Both executives will continue to report to Scharf and serve on Wells Fargo’s Operating Committee.
