FFL Partners Closes Oversubscribed Fund VI with More than $1.35 Billion of Capital Commitments

Increase of 50% Over Prior Fund Demonstrates Success of Firm’s Signature SEED Strategy

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FFL Partners (“FFL”), a private equity firm focused on growth investments, today announced the successful closing of FFL Capital Partners VI, L.P. and related vehicles (“Fund VI”) with over $1.35 billion in total commitments—50 percent larger than Fund V.

FFL secured commitments to Fund VI from a broad, well-diversified group of both longtime and new investors, including public and private pensions, financial institutions, insurance companies, endowments and foundations, and family offices.

“We are grateful for the enthusiastic support of our existing limited partners, and we are equally pleased to welcome a blue-chip group of new investors into Fund VI,” said Cas Schneller, Managing Partner at FFL. “Due to our strong historical performance, FFL has been on the radar of larger investors throughout this fundraising process, enabling us to successfully close well above our $1 billion target in a challenging fundraising environment.”

“Private equity investing is a team sport, and the successful Fund VI fundraise is a testament to the collective strength of the FFL team, our portfolio company management teams, and our limited partners,” Schneller continued. “Our teamwork and cultural alignment have allowed us to not only efficiently deploy capital from Funds V and VI, but also consistently generate liquidity for our investors through true exits, year after year.”

Consistent with its predecessor funds, Fund VI will maintain the firm’s disciplined Sector Exploration and Expertise Development (“SEED”) strategy, focusing on Healthcare and Tech-Enabled Services companies with attractive growth, competitive market position, muted cyclicality, and strong management teams. The fund aims to make equity investments ranging from $50 million to $200 million in control or significant minority stake transactions.

“Fund VI will continue our proven SEED strategy that targets narrowly defined sub-sectors where we can partner with exceptional founders and management teams to accelerate growth,” said Chris Harris, Managing Partner at FFL. “Our team has deep conviction in services businesses where our deep domain expertise and operating resources allow us to drive sustained value creation.”

“We are excited to welcome a growing investor base that values our differentiated approach and shares our belief in the opportunities that lie ahead,” added Harris. “We have a strong investment pipeline that we are evaluating today and are confident in our ability to deploy this capital into high-quality businesses.”

FFL has been actively investing capital from Fund VI in attractive companies within its core sectors, including Janus RX, Pioneer HOA, Waylin Partners, and Ally Technical.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as fund counsel for FFL, and Piper Sandler & Co. acted as placement agent.
