Fathom Launches iOS App, Bringing Bot-Free Meeting Capture to Mobile

New app records in-person meetings on the go and captures who said what, with privacy-first voice identification for users who opt in

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fathom, the AI meeting partner used by more than 500,000 companies, today announced the official launch of its iPhone app, extending its bot-free meeting capture to in-person conversations. The free app lets users record in-person meetings, 1:1s, and spontaneous conversations from their phone, then search and review their full meeting history wherever they are.

Fathom introduced bot-free capture as part of its spring platform update, which enabled users to record virtual meetings without a bot joining the call. The new iOS app offers that same bot-free experience in conversations that never involve a virtual meeting. In-person audio is one of the hardest problems in meeting capture because, unlike Zoom or Microsoft Teams, a room has no built-in separation between speakers. Fathom’s app identifies who said what, and users who opt into voice identification have their own words attributed to them by name. As more teammates opt in, more of the people in a shared meeting can be identified automatically.

Fathom’s iOS app features and capabilities include:

  • Capture in-person meetings and conversations directly from a mobile device
  • Distinguish individual speakers through voice identification, attributing a user’s lines to them by name once they opt in.
  • Build toward full multi-speaker accuracy as more members of a team create a voiceprint within their organization
  • In-app video playback for reviewing meetings and conversations on the go
  • Privacy-forward by design means that a voiceprint is only created for people who actively use the app themselves, never for a meeting participant who hasn't opted into the product
  • AI-generated summaries, key decisions, and action items
  • Free on every Fathom plan

“Some of the most important conversations at work never make it onto a calendar. They happen across the table from a customer, in a conference room, or in the hallway right after a meeting ends, and most of what’s said is gone the moment people walk away,” said Richard White, founder and CEO of Fathom. “We built Fathom on the conviction that the most valuable knowledge inside a company is spoken, not written, and that nobody should have to take notes to keep it. Bringing Fathom into the room means you can stay present while the follow-up takes care of itself, and the right information finds you later instead of disappearing. That’s what moves Fathom beyond notetaking.”

The iOS launch builds on Fathom’s momentum. More than 500,000 companies use Fathom, from individual consultants to Fortune 500 companies, and the company’s innovation in the space has been widely recognized: the company made G2’s 2026 Best Global Software Companies list, was named HubSpot’s Most Used App of the Year in 2025, and earned a spot on both Fast Company's 2026 Next Big Things in Tech and Business Insider’s 30 early-stage startups in 2026 most likely to become tech's next unicorns.

Fathom’s new iOS app can be downloaded from the App Store.
