Canals Brings AI-Powered Accounts Payable Automation to Contractors Using the Trimble Vista Financial Management Solution

Available through the Trimble Marketplace, the integration streamlines automated invoice processing and three-way matching for contractors

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Canals, the leader in AI for the construction supply chain, today announced its availability on the Trimble® Marketplace with an integration that connects Canals Accounts Payable to the Trimble Vista financial management solution. The integration is built on the Trimble App Xchange integration platform and provides Trimble Vista customers across the United States and Canada a way to automate invoice processing. It enables AI-powered three-way matching and allows for payable submissions directly inside their existing accounting system to help eliminate disruption to how their suppliers bill.

As data center construction accelerates, demand for large healthcare facilities grows, and contractors take on increasingly complex projects, construction accounts payable and finance teams are processing more receipts and invoices per project, each with vastly different formats and billing procedures. Reconciling that volume by hand consumes hours before a single payment clears, a burden that compounds as construction spending funnels into more capital-intensive projects and obscures cashflow which is critical for bidding future work.

"Automation is now an operational necessity, but it only works for contractors when it's built for the realities of construction and for the systems contractors already run," said Michael Delgado, CEO and Co-Founder of Canals. "We've processed billions of dollars in construction payables, and our certified Trimble Vista integration brings that experience into the accounting system contractors trust.”

Unlike generic AP automation tools, Canals Accounts Payable is purpose-built for the construction supply chain. The solution analyzes incoming invoices without any templates, extracting line-item data to compare against purchase orders and receipts, then submitting valid invoices automatically. Administrators set their own business logic and price-discrepancy tolerances to manage by exception, while Canals automates the rest — 95 percent of invoices on average. And because a contractor's payables are a supplier's receivables, that automation translates to faster, cleaner payments for the distributors at the center of Canals' business, and stronger relationships on both sides of the transaction.

“Through the Trimble Marketplace and App Xchange, we provide contractors with integrations that extend the power of Vista to streamline critical workflows like accounts payable,” said Angie Wiering, Associate Vice President of Ecosystem Development at Trimble.

Trimble Marketplace is a centralized hub that simplifies the discovery and purchase of verified integrations, applications, and extensions — provided by both Trimble and trusted third-parties — to complement Trimble solutions and expand connected technology ecosystems.
