Red Hat Expands Availability of Its Industry-Leading Hybrid Cloud Platforms on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Expanded availability gives customers more options to deploy and procure Red Hat technologies on OCI
RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Hat, the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced expanded availability of its industry-leading open hybrid cloud portfolio on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux as a first-party offering in the OCI Console. In addition, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization subscriptions are available through the Oracle Marketplace, helping organizations optimize existing cloud investments and build a more consistent foundation for next-generation workloads.
Powering enterprise AI workloads with Red Hat Enterprise Linux for OCI
Marking a significant milestone in Red Hat’s long-standing collaboration with Oracle, the first-party availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux on OCI makes it easier for customers to access and deploy the world’s leading enterprise Linux platform. This helps optimize compute-intensive workloads at scale, including machine learning and emerging AI workloads.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux for OCI delivers more consistent hybrid cloud security and control by enabling organizations to deploy pretuned, ready-to-run Red Hat Enterprise Linux images across OCI public clouds and in the future, distributed cloud deployments. This approach supports consistency across hybrid environments. As a first-party offering on OCI, Red Hat Enterprise Linux empowers organizations to operate with greater confidence and enterprise support by providing a complete standardized path for building, deploying and managing critical applications with integrated management capabilities and observability tooling. Key benefits include:
- Integration with OCI: Customers can access Oracle-specific performance profiles and flexible compute shapes, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and 10 images for Intel and AMD fully virtualized instances, optimized for OCI infrastructure.
- Native OCI telemetry services integration: Red Hat Enterprise Linux instances connect directly to Oracle's integrated monitoring, the OCI command-line interface, API, and console.
- Hybrid cloud consistency: Red Hat Enterprise Linux for OCI delivers the same security-focused operating system across on-premises and OCI environments, reducing configuration drift and staff retraining costs during cloud migration.
- Enterprise-grade support with unified escalation: OCI customers can receive front-line support through Oracle Support.
- Ease of procurement: OCI customers can use 100 percent Oracle Universal Credits drawdown for purchasing Red Hat Enterprise Linux for OCI, with simplified pay-as-you-go billing metered per Oracle CPU-hour.
Accelerating hybrid cloud deployments via Oracle Marketplace
As organizations manage expanding hybrid cloud environments, streamlined procurement and foundational consistency are paramount. Customers can now more easily unlock the value of the broader Red Hat portfolio on OCI, providing flexible transactional options across core enterprise platforms. Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization subscriptions are now available to purchase via Oracle Marketplace, enabling customers to transact directly through Oracle Marketplace while maximizing their strategic technology investments.
Optimizing interoperability across hybrid cloud environments
In addition to introducing new OCI procurement paths, Red Hat and Oracle continue to advance joint engineering efforts to optimize core product integrations. Key developments across the hybrid cloud portfolio include:
- Oracle AI Database on Red Hat Enterprise Linux: Building on a collaboration that spans more than two decades, Oracle AI Database 26ai is fully certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, 9 and 10.
- Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle AI Database on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization: Oracle RAC on Database 19c and Oracle AI Database 26ai has obtained Red Hat validation for on-premises deployment of OpenShift Virtualization.
- Oracle WebLogic Server on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization: Oracle WebLogic Server has been validated by Red Hat to run on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, enabling organizations to streamline application modernization while running traditional virtual machines alongside cloud-native containers.
