SpiderRock Launches Platform-Agnostic Options Execution Algo Suite with Embedded Access to Its Options ATS

The algorithms combine intelligent lit-market execution and off-screen Flash and Block Auctions, all driven by SpiderRock’s pricing, volatility and risk backbone

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SpiderRock EXS, LLC, an independent, agency-only provider of options trading technology and real-time analytics, today announced the launch of its options execution algo suite via 3rd party platforms or via the next generation SpiderRock UI tools (SpiderRock Connect). The algo suite combines routing across all U.S. listed options exchanges with automated access to off-screen liquidity via SpiderRock ATS.

Institutional traders are often forced to choose between working blocks manually over chat and trading on-exchange electronically. SpiderRock built the algo suite in response to client demand for one set of algorithms that efficiently access on- and off-screen liquidity within the trading tools clients already use. Clients can trade using the SpiderRock algorithms via FIX through institutional OMS and EMS platforms or directly within SpiderRock Connect.

At the core of the algo suite are the SpiderRock real-time analytics, guiding the on-screen behaviors with a high level of precision and the SpiderRock ATS, which offers two auction types: Flash Auctions and Block Auctions. Flash Auctions are available for orders of any size and run for 100 milliseconds, matching initiating orders with responses from autoresponders and systematic liquidity providers. Block Auctions, designed for orders of 50 or more contracts, let initiators negotiate electronically with a broad responder pool over a window of up to 10 minutes, for single options or spreads.
