Medici Land Governance Selected by DuPage County and Jefferson County for AI-Native Land Records Modernization

New contract wins signal growing adoption of AI designed to strengthen recording offices while keeping counties in control.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Medici Land Governance (MLG) today announced new contracts with DuPage County, Illinois, and Jefferson County, Colorado, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of Medici’s AI-native system of record and advanced public search for county recording offices.

AI-Native, Not AI-Added! Reimagining land records management with artificial intelligence built directly into the system of record. Two Major County Contract Wins! Medici Land Governance selected by DuPage County, IL, and Jefferson County, CO

The DuPage County initiative has already received national recognition, with the DuPage County Recorder’s Office named a 2026 CPSAI AI 50 Award winner by the Center for Public Sector AI for its collaboration with DuPage County Information Technology and Medici Land Governance to advance the use of artificial intelligence in land records management.

“Modernizing the Recorder’s Office was one of the commitments I made when I ran for office, and this partnership is an important step in delivering on that promise. We’re very pleased to be working with Medici Land Governance and have been impressed by both their professionalism and innovative approach to AI. Together, we’re giving the Recorder’s Office staff better tools, significantly improving the indexing of our land records, and providing better service to the public. I’m excited to see our office leading the way by putting this new technology to work,” said Elizabeth M. Chaplin, DuPage County Recorder.

The selections reflect a broader shift in how counties are approaching modernization: moving beyond digitizing traditional processes toward systems built from the ground up to use artificial intelligence to improve the quality, accessibility and security of public records.

At the center of Medici’s approach is a simple principle: AI should assist the Recorder or Clerk, not replace or outsource the responsibilities of the office.

Medici’s technology is designed to keep authority, decision-making and institutional knowledge with county officials. AI can assist staff with document review, indexing, recordability checks, fee calculations, redaction and identifying potential issues, while county employees remain in control of the rules, workflows, data and final decisions.

“We believe AI should make public officials more capable, not remove them from the process,” said Ali El Husseini, CEO of Medici Land Governance. “The Recorder or Clerk remains the authority. Our role is to give their teams better tools, better information and more time to focus on the decisions that require human judgment.”

Building an AI-Native System of Record

Rather than adding AI as a feature on top of a traditional recording system, Medici integrates artificial intelligence directly into the core recording workflow.

The platform helps turn recorded documents into intelligent, structured data that can be more easily reviewed, searched and used, while maintaining human oversight throughout the process.

The result is more than a faster recording system. It creates a foundation for counties to make decades of public information more useful to both government employees and the public they serve.

Modernization While Keeping Counties in Control

The DuPage County and Jefferson County selections demonstrate growing interest in a model of government technology that combines the capabilities of artificial intelligence with public-sector accountability.

With Medici, counties retain control of their data, determine their own recording requirements and workflows, and maintain human authority over the official public record.

The two contract awards expand Medici Land Governance’s work with county governments across the United States and advance the company’s broader mission: transforming public records into intelligent, accessible and actionable information while keeping counties, and the communities they serve, at the center of the system.
