Paralympian, World Champion, and UCLA Bruin Scout Bassett emceed the awards ceremony, sharing her perspective as an athlete and advocate, inspiring children and guests with a message that every child should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
LuskinOIC Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mauricio Silva, and Ned Fox presented the Fox Family Champion of Mission Award to Dr. Sean Warnock, recognizing his commitment to pediatric orthopedic care and advancing LuskinOIC’s mission.
Proceeds from the Swing for Kids Golf Classic directly benefit LuskinOIC’s Care For Kids Fund, which supports patient care, specialized equipment and programs that help children get moving again. With 85% of LuskinOIC patients coming from underserved communities, philanthropic support plays a critical role in making world-class orthopedic care accessible to children who might otherwise go without it. This was made possible through the support of Presenting Sponsors Roopal and Bharati Shah, who have sponsored Swing For Kids for nine years consecutively.
The annual tournament offered a full day of golf, entertainment and philanthropy, featuring on-course contests, a silent auction, giveaways, and interactive activations.
LuskinOIC extends its appreciation to the 2026 Golf Committee and Chair Dan Madden, as well as Advisory Council members Ashley Jain, DeeAnn Myers, George Cunningham, Audra Mallow, and Kelly Gardina.
The organization also recognized the many patients, athletes, physicians, board members and community partners who supported this year’s event, including LuskinOIC International Children’s Program Patient Ambassadors Ramses, Iker, Allison and Hazel; the LPGA, UCLA Women’s Basketball and UCLA Men’s Golf; and LuskinOIC Board leadership Craig Ehrlich, Michael Dal Bello, John Kobara, Brad Feld and Will Wynperle.
Medical leaders from LuskinOIC and UCLA Health also joined the celebration, including Dr. Nicholas Bernthal, Chair of UCLA Orthopaedics; Dr. Jonathan Koss of LuskinOIC Urgent Care and UCLA Sports Medicine; and members of the UCLA Sarcoma Team, including Dr. Noah Federman, Dr. Brian Kadera, Dr. Arun Singh, and Dr. Jane Yanagawa.
The Swing for Kids Golf Classic was made possible through the generosity of its sponsors, including The Goldrick Family, which offered a $100,000 matching challenge; Evening Program Sponsors Jason Silletti and Ashlie Woods; Golf Cart Sponsor Aaron Ginsburg; Eagle Sponsor Philip Han; and Birdie Sponsors The Madden Family and Prevail.
Every contribution helps LuskinOIC’s mission that all kids deserve world-class orthopedic care and the opportunity to move and play, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
