Onyx CenterSource Launches OnyxPay, the Next Generation of Hospitality Payments

Multi-year investment combines Onyx’s global network, payment infrastructure, and AI to simplify hotel and agency commission payments

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Onyx CenterSource, a leading global provider of B2B payments and business intelligence for the hospitality industry, today announced OnyxPay, a next-generation platform designed to bring greater visibility, flexibility, and speed to commission payments for hotels and travel agencies.

The most significant strategic investment in Onyx’s history, OnyxPay strengthens the infrastructure behind a global network of more than 150,000 hotel properties and 200,000 travel booking providers across more than 160 countries, processing over $2 billion in payments annually. It creates a foundation for expanded payment capabilities and more connected experiences across that network.

“Transforming hospitality payments requires a rebuild of the infrastructure that hotels and agencies depend on every day,” said Scott Gutz, chief executive officer of Onyx CenterSource. “OnyxPay represents a fundamental shift in how the industry manages commission payments and reflects our commitment to building infrastructure our customers can depend on for the long term.”

Onyx's Q2 2026 global commission data report found that hotel commission payments averaged 41 days. Fragmented information, manual reconciliation, and repeated status checks continue to complicate the process. OnyxPay gives agencies transaction-level visibility, grouped-payment tracking, and data exports for integration, matching and reconciliation. Hotels gain real-time funding and payment status, current and historical information, and many tools to flag issues and enable actions in one portal.

Hotels can fund and agencies can receive payments at frequencies that suit their businesses. Role-based access, approval workflows, and a full audit log support accountability. The result is faster cycle times, fewer disputes and faster resolution.

OnyxPay uses AI-assisted entity matching to identify when different names and records refer to the same hotel or agency, reducing duplication and manual investigation. Onyx’s advantage comes from its global network, which brings together data from both hotels and travel agencies. Combined with decades of hospitality payment expertise, this visibility into both sides of the commission relationship provides a foundation for more intelligent matching and expanded exception identification.

“Our focus with OnyxPay is to make commission payments easier to manage for the people who work with them every day,” said Steve Reynolds, chief technology officer at Onyx CenterSource. "That means bringing information together, making payment status easier to understand, and reducing the manual effort required to resolve questions. We have combined our hospitality expertise with a modern technology foundation that allows us to expand automation and apply AI where it delivers measurable value for our clients.”

Customer onboarding begins this month through a phased migration. Access and feature availability will expand through subsequent rollout phases.
