Half of Revenue Leaders Say AI Surfaces Insights but Fails to Act, Everstage’s Research Finds

The Revenue Execution Survey 2026 finds AI is improving visibility across go-to-market teams more than execution; findings were first presented at Everstage’s Northstar ’26 summit in New York.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Everstage, the leading agentic revenue execution platform, today announced findings from The Revenue Execution Survey 2026, a new survey examining how AI is affecting decision-making and execution across revenue teams. While AI adoption among senior revenue leaders is widespread, the survey found a persistent gap between identifying revenue signals and acting on them. Every leader surveyed reported having AI in production, yet 51% said AI’s biggest shortcoming is that it surfaces an insight without taking action on it.

Everstage first presented the findings at Northstar ’26, its Revenue Architect Summit, held in New York in August 2026.

The survey examines whether AI is helping revenue organizations move more quickly from identifying an issue to taking action. While respondents reported using AI across multiple revenue workflows, the findings indicate that human intervention remains a significant part of the execution process.

“Every revenue leader we surveyed is running AI, and not one said they hadn’t started, so this was never a question of adoption,” said Siva Rajamani, CEO and co-founder of Everstage, during his Northstar ’26 keynote. “The AI scores the deals and summarizes the calls, and then it stops. It surfaces the insight and never acts on it. The thing that tells you a deal is dying is still a recurring pipeline review, not the system you paid for.”

Key Findings from The Revenue Execution Survey 2026

The survey identifies several points where revenue organizations continue to experience delays between identifying a signal and taking action:

  • Deal risk is often identified through manual processes: 57% of revenue leaders said they first learn that a deal is at risk during a pipeline review, compared with 17% who said they first receive an automated alert.
  • Action often takes several days: 45% of respondents said it takes four or more days to act after a risk signal appears.
  • Some risks are identified only after the outcome is determined: One in four revenue leaders said they learn a deal was at risk only after the deal has already been lost.

Together, the findings highlight a gap between visibility and execution: AI is increasingly helping revenue teams identify signals, but acting on those signals can still depend on manual workflows and human intervention.

“AI has made it easier to see what’s happening in a deal,” said Rajamani. “The number only moves when something acts on what it sees, and today that something is still a person.”
