UTA Unveils New Leadership Structure for Filmed Entertainment

Matt Rice Elevated to President of Filmed Entertainment

New Filmed Entertainment Board Positions UTA for Continued Growth

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, United Talent Agency (UTA) CEO David Kramer announced a streamlined, future-focused leadership structure for its Filmed Entertainment group. Board Member Matt Rice has been named President of Filmed Entertainment; Allan Haldeman, Blair Kohan, Jay Gassner and Julien Thuan have been elevated to Managing Partners of the group; and the agency has created a Filmed Entertainment Board. The new structure unifies leadership across UTA’s Filmed Entertainment division, bringing together partners from Motion Picture Literary, Television Literary and Talent to deliver unrivaled seamless client representation, sharpen the agency’s competitive edge and increase collaboration and connectivity.

Rice, who helped spearhead a transformative expansion of UTA’s Television division, has been elevated to President of Filmed Entertainment. In his expanded role, Rice will lead overall strategy and execution across the entire Filmed Entertainment footprint, which includes Motion Picture Literary, Production Arts, Independent Film, TV Literary, Unscripted TV, Talent, Media Rights, Endorsements, Voiceover, and Theatre. Newly named Managing Partners Haldeman, Kohan, Gassner and Thuan will support Rice in running the group, setting the strategic direction for the business, driving growth and innovation, and creating greater value for clients.

The agency has also established a Filmed Entertainment Board, consisting of senior partners, who will leverage their collective expertise, experience and deep industry relationships to capture market momentum and maximize client opportunities. Board members include Mickey Berman, Jason Burns, Marissa Devins, Dan Erlij, Chris Hart, Jason Heyman, Mike Jelline, Keya Khayatian, Rich Klubeck, Billy Lazarus, Gregory McKnight, Lucinda Moorhead, David Park, Theresa Peters, Shani Rosenzweig, and Larry Salz.

Additionally, the agency announced the appointment of several new Department Heads across Filmed Entertainment– agents who have distinguished themselves through both exceptional client representation and leadership within their respective businesses. New department heads are Amanda Hymson and Jordan Lonner (Motion Picture Literary); Lucinda Moorhead and Mickey Berman (TV Literary); Hanley Baxter and John Sacks (Talent, alongside incumbent department head Mike Jelline).

The new structure follows a record year for UTA’s film and television business. UTA clients were behind some of the biggest box office hits and most acclaimed television productions, earning top honors at the Academy Awards, Emmys, Golden Globes and Tonys, underscoring the depth and impact of UTA’s Filmed Entertainment business.
