Gridmatic Retail Named Pricing Excellence Award Winner Amidst Rapid Customer Growth

Gridmatic won top marks in Energy Research Consulting Group’s recent report, having been named winner in price competitiveness and Top 5 supplier for overall satisfaction

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Gridmatic, an AI-first power company, today announced its retail business, Gridmatic Retail, has been named a price-competitiveness award winner in its first appearance in Energy Research Consulting Group’s (ERCG) annual ABC Study. The study benchmarks retail energy suppliers based on feedback from Aggregators, Brokers, and Consultants (ABCs) across the United States.

In this year’s study, Gridmatic Retail won an ERCG Excellence Award in Price Competitiveness, and was ranked #5 in overall satisfaction and #2 in volume growth, underscoring Gridmatic Retail’s rapid rise in a competitive market.

"It’s rare to see a retailer go from a new entrant to a top performer on price competitiveness and overall satisfaction," said Young Kim, Principal at ERCG. “This kind of immediate recognition is a strong sign that Gridmatic has built a broker-friendly platform.”

Gridmatic Retail delivers retail electricity solutions powered by AI forecasting to commercial and industrial customers, including large-load data centers, manufacturers, universities, and small businesses. Gridmatic’s retail strategy is built on using forecasting and optimization tools to support competitive pricing and supply management.

Gridmatic is meeting retail customers’ demand for lower energy costs, greater predictability, and lower-risk electricity contracts that help meet energy goals. Gridmatic is experiencing rapid growth in its retail business, with 60% month-over-month growth across ERCOT and PJM and a strong revenue trajectory through year-end 2026.

"Our competitiveness comes down to Gridmatic’s AI-driven forecasting. We use it to better risk-manage our positions and better find profit opportunities, which ultimately translates into lower prices for our customers,” said Jackson Vo, President of Gridmatic Retail. “The tremendous progress of our retail business reflects the strength of our team and the momentum we've built, and we're honored by the recognition from ERCG as we remain focused on delivering innovative retail solutions in the energy market."

Gridmatic’s best-in-class forecasting has been proven by its position as the number one all-time leader in ERCOT trading as the most profitable day-ahead energy participant to date in the highly competitive Texas energy market.

“Looking ahead, we plan to continue expanding into PJM while serving a broader range of customer segments, from data centers to small and medium-sized businesses,” said Kise Shannon, VP of Sales and Business Development. “Gridmatic will keep investing in technology and sales automation to support both large, complex accounts and high-volume, smaller deals.”

About Gridmatic

Gridmatic is the power company for an increasingly complex grid. As renewables and batteries become the dominant sources of new power generation, and as electricity demand grows from electrification and data centers, forecasting and optimization are becoming as important as physical infrastructure. Gridmatic predicts weather, electricity supply, demand, and prices, then applies those forecasts to optimize how energy is procured, stored, supplied, and used. Our technology combines advanced weather modeling, machine learning, and optimization to improve energy market decisions and asset performance. Today, Gridmatic is the most profitable trader in the ERCOT day-ahead market since entering in 2019, operates the highest-performing battery in CAISO during 2024–2025, and has signed more than 1,600 commercial and industrial retail customers in the last two years. https://www.gridmatic.com/
