Starr Appoints Duncan Ellis as Executive Vice President, Client Engagement

NEW YORK & LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starr announced today that Duncan Ellis will join the company as executive vice president, client engagement, effective October 2, 2026.

In this role, Ellis will lead client engagement efforts across Starr, focused on deepening the firm’s relationships with its clients and partners and leveraging the breadth of Starr’s capabilities across its lines of business. He will report to Steve Blakey, president and chief executive officer of Starr Insurance Holdings.

Ellis brings more than three decades of insurance industry experience spanning broking, underwriting, management, and client engagement, with deep expertise in property insurance. He was a longtime executive at Marsh, where he most recently served as managing director and U.S. and Canada real estate and hospitality industry practice leader. Prior to that position at Marsh, he was at AIG in a number of senior roles, concluding as head of retail distribution for North America.
