Instinct Raises $1 Billion in Series C Funding from Sequoia, Benchmark and Coatue at $10 Billion Valuation

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Instinct, the company building a personal agent for everyday life, today announced that it has raised an additional $1 billion in its latest round from Sequoia Capital, Benchmark Capital, and Coatue to bring useful AI to everyone.

Still in early access, Instinct has become known for its ability to understand and handle the complexities of everyday life. Whether it's planning a cross-country road trip, ordering the weekly groceries or cancelling subscriptions left forgotten, Instinct handles the whole task from start to finish. Just text or call, and Instinct uses its own phone and computer to get it done.

In the last several months, Instinct has released several new product updates to make people’s lives easier, including:

• Instinct Concierge: A white-glove service meant to handle high-touch cases, such as making phone calls, high-end service booking, and more. This includes booking the restaurant that doesn’t take online reservations, getting on the dentist’s cancellation list, or sorting out that cable bill.
• Trusted Person Network: Powered by the Instinct-to-Instinct communication protocol, a user’s Instinct assistant can now talk to other Instincts to coordinate plans on their behalf. Instincts can now work with each other to help handle that coordination as well as support direct file sharing, including PDFs, images and spreadsheets.
• Location Sharing: Shared on iMessage, Instinct can recognize when users arrive somewhere, make suggestions based on personal preferences, or answer questions.
• Privacy Advancements: Isolated sandboxes, short-lived local credentials, and identity-signed tool execution have been built into the product from day one and are continually being improved. Instinct’s new active detective system also catches subtle, nuanced hallucinations as the agent forms its responses – cutting them out before Instinct generates or executes a response.
