Wireless Power Consortium Elects New Board Members

New Members Bring Deep Experience in Standards, IP, Product Development and Global Commercialization

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) today announced the election of Jo Taylor of Foxconn/Belkin International and Raja Venkatachalam of GRL Platform Solutions to its Board of Directors, adding extensive expertise in intellectual property, technology standards, business operations, certification and global commercialization to WPC’s leadership. Fady Mishriki of Apple, Inc. and Tony Francesca of nok9 have also been re-elected as WPC Board Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. Additionally, Michael Wang of NuVolta Technologies, Kyungwoo Lee of Samsung Electronics, and Xun (Ken) Liu of ConvenientPower were re-elected to the Board. Jo Taylor

As Chief Legal Officer of Belkin, Jo leads the company's global legal function, working closely with engineering, product, marketing and sales teams. She has supported wireless charging projects since the launch of Belkin’s first Qi Certified charger in 2016, giving her firsthand experience with the technology's evolution and widespread consumer adoption.

Taylor brings extensive expertise in intellectual property, licensing, governance and standards-based technologies. Her experience spans standards including USB-C, Bluetooth, Matter and HEVC, as well as the legal and commercial issues involved in bringing standards-based products from specification through development and into the hands of consumers.

Raja Venkatachalam

As Chief Product Officer of GRL Platform Solutions, Raja leads product strategy, investments, operations, and P&L performance across wired and wireless technologies. He played a key role in transforming GRL Platform Solutions into a global product organization and has been a driving force behind its test-platform development supporting major technology standards.

His experience spans Qi, USB Power Delivery, Thread, DisplayPort and HDMI. GRL’s test solutions are approved by more than a dozen standards organizations and trusted by leading companies across the smartphone, charging, display, AI infrastructure, IoT, and automotive industries. His experience across engineering, validation, certification and commercialization brings a broad operational perspective to the WPC Board.
