Care.com Announces Sam Hall as Chief Product and Technology Officer

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Care.com today announced Sam Hall as the company’s new Chief Product and Technology Officer. Hall is a product and technology leader with more than 20 years of experience scaling products at companies including Amazon, Grubhub, ClassPass and more.

In making the announcement, Brad Wilson, CEO of Care.com, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Sam to the team. He is going to help us create deeper, more lasting value for our customers whether you're a family looking for care or a caregiver looking for work. He's got real instincts for how marketplaces work, and just as important, Sam has deep experience operating at the intersection of product and engineering. We look forward to giving him the runway to rethink what Care.com can be, not just tighten what’s already here.”

“As both a father and a son, I've experienced caregiving from multiple sides — the sleepless nights, the tough decisions and the relief of finding the right support at the right moment,” said Sam Hall, CPTO of Care.com. “That personal connection to care is exactly why I'm so excited to join Care.com. I'm looking forward to working alongside this incredible team to make finding and providing care even more accessible and seamless for the families and caregivers who need it most.”

Hall has held Chief Product and Technology Officer and VP roles at iconic brands, where he built and led teams that transformed the consumer experience. At Grubhub, Sam and his team unified the company's separate tech environments into a single platform, dramatically speeding up restaurant onboarding and boosting driver retention. At ClassPass, he led the rebuild of the company's core business model, shifting from an unlimited subscription model to a credit system that worked better for everyone. He and his team also built Amazon's mobile platform from scratch into a major growth engine for the company, and helped drive substantial revenue growth at CLEAR. With experience leading both product and engineering teams, he knows how to operate at that intersection firsthand.

“At Care.com, the mission is everything. It's what gets us out of bed every morning,” said Wilson. “So what makes us most excited about Sam joining the team is his passion for that mission. He recently moved back to the U.S. in part because of his own family's caregiving responsibilities, so he has real, personal experience with how hard it is to find care you can trust. That's exactly who we want on this team.”

Hall holds an MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business and received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of the Pacific. He is a board director, advisor and holder of eight U.S. patents.
