Pinnacle is the No. 1 bank in Nashville by deposits and No. 4 in Atlanta as deposit growth shows continued momentum across the Southeast

FDIC market share data reflects continued execution of growth model during integration

ATLANTA & NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pinnacle Financial Partners (NYSE: PNFP) continued to build deposit share in key markets across the Southeast during the 12 months ending June 30, 2026, according to newly released data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

"Not many banks can manage this level of growth during integration, but Pinnacle has always been exceptional.”

Share
  • Pinnacle holds $98.2 billion in deposits in the covered MSAs within its footprint, representing 3.73% of market share.
    • Up $6.2 billion, or 6.7%, compared to the combined firm’s pro forma at the same point in 2025
  • No. 1 in the Nashville MSA with $22.7 billion, 21.1% market share and 5% growth
  • No. 4 in the Atlanta MSA with $17.1 billion, 6.7% market share and 12% growth
  • 39 markets with deposit growth
  • 17 markets moved up in rankings
  • 17 markets with double-digit growth, 2 with triple-digit growth

The results are a snapshot of deposits on June 30, 2026, and represent the first six months of Pinnacle as a combined firm following its merger with Synovus, which closed Jan. 1, 2026. While integration work has progressed across the organization, local teams have stayed focused on serving clients, recruiting experienced financial professionals and building new relationships.

"Our clients continue to choose us, and our team members keep earning their trust. I’m grateful for both,” said Kevin Blair, president and CEO of Pinnacle Financial Partners. “Every dollar that moves to us is a client deciding that our team will serve them better. When that happens in market after market, it tells us the model works. Not many banks can manage this level of growth during integration, but Pinnacle has always been exceptional.”

In Nashville, Tennessee, Pinnacle remains the No. 1 bank by deposits with $22.7 billion and 21.1% market share. The firm added $1.1 billion, or 5% pro forma growth, from June 30, 2025, continuing its long-standing leadership in the market where Pinnacle was founded.

In Atlanta, Pinnacle is now the No. 4 bank by deposits with $17.1 billion, representing 6.7% of the market. The firm added $1.8 billion, or 12% pro forma growth, from June 30, 2025.

And in Columbus, Georgia, where Synovus was founded 138 years ago, Pinnacle is No. 1 by deposits with $5.4 billion and 57.1% market share. Synovus, and Columbus Bank & Trust before that, held the No. 1 position for decades—longer than available records date back—and now takes on that responsibility to the community as Pinnacle.

“We grow through people and relationships, a playbook Pinnacle has successfully run for 26 years,” Blair said. “Nashville shows what that strategy can accomplish. Atlanta represents the opportunity we have to apply it to one of the Southeast’s largest economic centers. We’re growing in high-growth metro areas, and we can replicate our success in any market we serve.”

Across Pinnacle’s footprint, the firm grew deposits on a pro forma combined basis in 39 MSAs measured by the FDIC and gained share in 29. The firm holds the No. 1 position in six markets, including Nashville, TN, and Columbus, GA, and is top 3 in 15 markets.

Pinnacle’s recruiting strategy remained active throughout the period. The firm has hired 138 revenue-producing team members in 2026 through July 15, adding experienced financial professionals across its markets and specialty businesses.
