Planned Parenthood Brings “No Matter What” Pop-Up to Los Angeles To Immerse Visitors in Realities of Healthcare Crisis

Immersive, two-day public exhibit from October 16–17 centers the experiences of patients and providers across the country

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) announced that “No Matter What: A Pop-Up by Planned Parenthood” will open in Los Angeles, CA, from October 16–17 at nya Studios East. The immersive, two-day experience highlights the devastating impact of the ongoing attacks on care and Planned Parenthood. The Los Angeles “No Matter What” pop-up follows the first "No Matter What" installation in New York City in June, with plans for a third pop-up in a location to be announced in the coming months.

“‘No Matter What’ is a must-see exhibit that details how these attacks inhibit people's ability to get the essential healthcare they deserve,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

The No Matter What” pop-up guides visitors through a series of powerful, sensory experiences grounded in the care Planned Parenthood health centers provide. Without this care, people are driven to travel further, wait longer, pay more for, or go without care entirely. The installation reveals the toll of losing access through the voices of patients and providers.

In 2025, the Trump administration and its backers in Congress “defunded” Planned Parenthood by blocking people from using their Medicaid insurance for lifesaving care — including birth control, cancer screenings, and STI testing — at Planned Parenthood health centers.

During the year this harmful policy was in place, nearly 30 health centers closed down — a majority of which occurred in rural areas and all in “contraceptive deserts.” Data from Planned Parenthood shows a stark decline in patients getting essential sexual and reproductive healthcare at Planned Parenthood health centers, with Medicaid visits dropping by 25%, or over 250,000 visits, compared to the same time period during the previous year.

California has remained a critical point of access for patients, including those traveling from outside the state. During the yearlong federal funding disruption, California committed $320 million to preserve Californians who use Medicaid’s access to core family planning services at Planned Parenthood health centers in the state. While that support helped sustain sexual and reproductive healthcare access for patients across the state, real threats to sexual and reproductive health access, including abortion access, remain.

"While President Trump and his allies' year-long attack on Planned Parenthood has ended, the harm for patients and the risk of a permanent 'defunding' of Planned Parenthood have not," said Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. "'No Matter What' is a must-see exhibit that details how these attacks inhibit people's ability to get the essential healthcare they deserve, and it is a reminder that everything is on the line — including our rights and lives.”

By centering the voices of patients and providers, “No Matter What” invites visitors to witness the realities of those affected and join the broader effort to keep care within reach. “No Matter What” reflects Planned Parenthood’s commitment to ensuring patients in every community can get high-quality sexual and reproductive healthcare.
