AM Best to Discuss Captive Insurance Ratings at 2026 Captive Insurance Council of District of Columbia Conference

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will join a panel discussion on the value of ratings on captive insurance companies at the 2026 Captive Insurance Council of District of Columbia Annual Conference, which will be held in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 5-6, 2026.

Kourtnie Beckwith, senior financial analyst, AM Best, will join the discussion on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, titled, “Rating the Value of Ratings.” The session will take place from 8:45-9:45 a.m. EDT. During the presentation, Beckwith will discuss how a Best’s Financial Strength Rating can support captive owners’ goals in areas such as market expectations, policyholder needs, reinsurance dynamics and board-level priorities. The panel also will explore the state of the Washington, D.C. captive market, the strategic, financial and reputational implications of being rated and what is involved in getting and maintaining a rating. Beckwith has been with AM Best since 2018 and is responsible for the analysis and financial ratings of captive insurers, monoline cyber insurance companies and title organizations in the United States.
