Jon Hancock to Retire from AIG
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) today announced that Jon Hancock will retire as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, General Insurance and transition to the role of Senior Advisor effective December 31, 2026, following more than six years in executive leadership roles at AIG and a distinguished, 40-year career in the insurance industry.
As Senior Advisor, Mr. Hancock will report to Eric Andersen, President & Chief Executive Officer of AIG, and provide counsel on strategic priorities that support AIG’s continued performance and long-term success. He will provide executive support for select growth initiatives, continue to serve on the Boards of Directors of Talbot Underwriting Ltd, AIG UK Ltd, and Tata AIG General Insurance Company, and serve as a resource to leaders across the company, with a focus on advancing AIG’s strategy of underwriting excellence and developing the next generation of underwriting talent.
Mr. Hancock joined AIG in 2020 as Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, International Insurance, at a pivotal time in the company’s turnaround, and in 2025 was named Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the company’s General Insurance business. Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Hancock served as Director of Performance Management at Lloyd’s of London from 2016 to 2020 where he oversaw performance and global risk management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hancock spent 26 years at RSA in senior leadership roles.
