AM Best Places Credit Ratings of Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited Under Review With Positive Implications

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best has placed under review with positive implications the Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent) of Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited (Fidelity Life Assurance) (New Zealand).

The Credit Rating (rating) actions follow the announcement on 3 September 2026, that Partners Group Holdings Limited, a wholly owned New Zealand subsidiary of Daiichi Life Group, Inc. [TSE: 8750], has entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire Fidelity Life Assurance. The transaction, which is subject to required regulatory approvals and other completion requirements, is expected to be completed in 2027.

The ratings will remain under review with positive implications pending the completion of the transaction and AM Best’s review of Fidelity Life Assurance’s credit rating fundamentals post-acquisition, including any potential rating enhancement that could arise from the change in ownership.

Ratings are communicated to rated entities prior to publication. Unless stated otherwise, the ratings were not amended subsequent to that communication.
