Hiive Becomes Clarity, Expanding Its Vision for Private Venture Capital Markets

The company introduces a new brand, expanded institutional capabilities, and continued business momentum as it evolves into a financial services platform for highly valued private companies.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hiive today announced that it is rebranding as Clarity, reflecting the company's evolution from a marketplace for secondary transactions into a financial services platform powering the capital market for highly valued private companies.

An increasing share of value creation in the innovation economy now occurs in private markets. Yet despite their growth, these markets remain fragmented, opaque, and difficult to navigate. Information is dispersed, pricing is unclear, and liquidity can be difficult to access.

"Markets cannot function without clarity," said Sim Desai, Founder and CEO of Clarity. "When participants understand pricing, process, and opportunity, confidence follows. And when confidence grows, capital flows. That's why we're building Clarity—to help power the capital market for highly valued private companies."

The new name reflects a broader ambition. Since its founding, the company has helped investors and shareholders access liquidity in some of the world's most sought-after private companies. As private markets have evolved, so has the business. Today, Clarity helps companies raise capital and manage liquidity, enables institutions to deploy capital with confidence, and facilitates turnkey access to the private market for RIAs.

The rebrand coincides with the launch of a significantly expanded platform featuring five major capabilities. A new funds marketplace helps investors discover opportunities aligned with their investment thesis and access a resale market for existing fund interests. Deeper in-platform insights into pricing, supply, demand, and company valuation facilitate informed decision-making for investors. A revamped institutional interface enables large investors to anonymously aggregate smaller listings while reducing signaling risk. Once investors are matched with opportunities, institutional-grade execution streamlines documentation, approvals, and settlement. Finally, a new portfolio management feature enables investors and advisors to track their private holdings in one place.

Together, these capabilities help investors discover opportunities, deploy capital with confidence, execute transactions more efficiently, and manage their private market investments.

"Sophisticated investors don't just need access to private markets—they need technology built around the way they work," said Stuart Eccles, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Clarity. "We've combined institutional-grade workflows with the expertise of our capital markets team to help clients discover opportunities, execute complex transactions, and deploy capital with greater confidence."

The company enters this next chapter from a position of significant momentum. Since its commercial launch, Clarity has facilitated more than $6 billion in transaction volume, executed trades in the stock of over 400 private companies, and generated more than $2 billion in assets under management through its in-house investment funds business.

As companies remain private longer and an increasing share of value creation occurs before going public, Clarity believes modern capital markets must evolve alongside them. The transition from Hiive to Clarity reflects that conviction.
