ProShares Fuels Next Phase of Growth With Significant New Hires and Continued Investment in Talent
Alessio de Longis joins as Head of Research and Chief Investment Officer, Active Investments, to lead new investment capability
BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ProShares, a premier provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), today announced that it is taking its business to the next level of growth, expanding the firm's capabilities to pursue new investment opportunities and deliver a broader range of investment solutions across new asset classes and structures. To power this growth, the firm has made several significant new hires and is continuing to build its team.
Expanding Across New Asset Classes, New Product Structures
ProShares' growth strategy reaches into new areas beyond its traditional ETF lineup, including active management, private markets, and fixed income. To support this strategy, the firm is investing in talent across the organization, with experienced new hires in areas such as portfolio management, product development, and research, with more than 20 open positions, and more hiring to come.
As part of its expansion, ProShares plans to launch a lineup of interval funds, a structure that can offer investors access to less-liquid, return-oriented opportunities not readily available through traditional ETFs. Beyond interval funds, ProShares intends to evaluate additional product structures designed to expand investors' access to other asset classes.
Alongside this organic investment, ProShares is considering several new strategic partnerships with other asset management firms and intends to continue evaluating additional partnerships as another avenue for growth. Such relationships could extend the firm's reach, accelerate its entry into new asset classes, and bring complementary expertise to its expanding platform.
"ProShares recently reached a new high of close to $120 billion in assets under management, reflecting the success of our commitment to innovation and investor-focused solutions," said ProShares CEO Michael L. Sapir. "Now we are taking the business to its next level of growth. The significant new talent we've brought on is central to that effort, and we will keep investing in exceptional people, capabilities, and partnerships to build new offerings, broaden what we provide investors, and achieve our goals."
A New Active Investments Platform
A key part of this expansion is ProShares' new Active Investments platform, which broadens the firm's capabilities across a range of areas where traditional indexing approaches are structurally limited — such as private markets and fixed income, among others — and which will serve as the home for the firm's new interval fund lineup. The platform brings together experienced investment professionals with specialized investment research and portfolio management expertise to develop active investment solutions that complement the firm's longstanding leadership in ETFs.
To lead the firm's new Active Investments platform, ProShares has appointed Alessio de Longis as Managing Director, Head of Research and Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Active Investments. Most recently, de Longis served as Head of Asset Allocation and Senior Portfolio Manager at Invesco's Investment Solutions Group, overseeing a global multi-asset investment platform with approximately $100 billion in assets and advisory mandates across private wealth and institutional clients.
"ProShares has built a strong reputation for innovation and delivering differentiated investment solutions," said de Longis. "It's an exciting time to join ProShares as we expand the firm's active investment capabilities. By combining rigorous investment research, thoughtful portfolio construction, and disciplined portfolio management, we can develop innovative active investment solutions that help meet investors' evolving needs."
