Apogem Capital Raises $597M to Close its Eleventh Private Equity Fund at its Hard Cap

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apogem Capital (“Apogem”), a leading private markets investor, today announced the final close of Apogem Private Equity Fund XI (“APEF XI” or the “Fund”), hitting the Fund’s hard cap with $580 million committed from Limited Partners. Employees committed an additional $17 million, bringing total committed capital to $597 million and reflecting strong investor support for Apogem’s differentiated approach to accessing opportunities in the lower middle market.

APEF XI continues the firm’s long-established lower middle market strategy, building portfolios of diversified exposure across emerging fund managers, independent sponsors, and direct investments in North America. Apogem has a proven, 25+ year track record investing in this market segment, providing clients with access to what we believe to be one of the most attractive yet difficult to navigate segments of private equity.

Louise Smith, Managing Director and Co-Head of Fund Investments at Apogem Capital, said:

“We are grateful for the continued support of our longstanding investors and are pleased to welcome new institutional partners to APEF XI. We believe exposure to emerging managers and the lower middle market can add alpha and diversification to institutional private equity portfolios, with the added benefit of resilience in challenging environments.”

The Fund received strong support from existing limited partners and attracted commitments from a diverse group of global institutional investors, including public and private pension plans, family offices, and RIAs. Apogem employees and its parent company, New York Life Insurance Company, also made meaningful commitments to the Fund.

Richard Wiltshire, Managing Director and Head of Co-investments, added:

“Despite macroeconomic uncertainty and market volatility, we continue to find compelling opportunities in the lower middle market where activity levels and distributions have remained resilient. APEF XI is positioned to capitalize on the breadth of opportunities we see across emerging managers, independent sponsors and direct investments, while maintaining the discipline that has guided our approach through multiple market cycles.”

APEF XI benefits from Apogem’s scale and platform connectivity as a $44 billion private markets investment manager.1 The Fund draws on the firm’s deep lower middle market relationships established over the last 25+ years across its private equity and credit programs.
