Mitsubishi Electric to Aid Victims of Earthquake in Kumamoto Through In-house Donation Program

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that the Mitsubishi Electric Group will donate a cumulative 44.16 million yen through an in-house matching-gift program — the Mitsubishi Electric SOCIO-ROOTS Fund — to aid people affected by the earthquake that struck Kumamoto, Japan recently.

Donations collected from employees at Mitsubishi Electric Group offices amounted to 22.08 million yen, which the company then doubled. The total will be donated to a fund named “disaster volunteer, NPO activity support donation” (borasapo, 2026 Kumamoto earthquake).

Mitsubishi Electric has already made a separate corporate donation of 50 million yen, as announced on July 31.

The Mitsubishi Electric Group once again expresses its deepest sympathies to those affected by the disaster and its sincerest best wishes for a speedy recovery.
