New Pit Master Takes Over San Bernardino Dickey’s, Brings Fresh Perspective to Hometown Restaurant

Local franchise owner Tuan “Danny” Nguyen steps behind the smoker ready to build community connections and introduce more guests to authentic Texas barbecue

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The San Bernardino community will be greeted by a new face at their local Dickey’s Barbecue Pit as Tuan “Danny” Nguyen takes ownership of the restaurant located at 1725 Northpark Blvd. W., Suite A1 and looks to build on its connection with the community he calls home.

Nguyen officially put on his apron as the new Pit Master in his hometown earlier this summer and is excited to bring his passion for barbecue, hospitality and community connections to the longstanding restaurant. As he settles into his new role, Nguyen is focused on creating a welcoming experience for guests while introducing more San Bernardino residents to Dickey’s authentic, slow-smoked Texas barbecue.

One area Nguyen is particularly excited to grow is catering. He sees catering as an opportunity to connect with more customers, introduce Dickey’s to new guests and become a go-to destination for community gatherings, celebrations and events.

“Catering is about more than just providing food,” said Nguyen. “It’s about connecting with customers, building relationships and bringing more people into the business. I’m excited to grow that part of the restaurant and become more involved in the community.”

For Nguyen, bringing people together over barbecue is at the heart of the business. As he begins this next chapter, he hopes to build awareness of Dickey’s throughout San Bernardino while continuing to provide the quality food and welcoming experience guests expect.

A longtime fan of Dickey’s menu, Nguyen has a clear favorite when it comes to his go-to order: the ribs. He says the ribs are tender and full of flavor even before adding sauce and what stands out to him as the “Dickey’s Difference”.

The Dickey’s difference starts with its approach to smoking premium cuts of brisket, pork, chicken and kielbasa sausage low and slow for hours over a proprietary applewood pellet blend. The barbecue brand, which has been serving smoked favorites since opening its first location in Texas in 1941, features classic American barbecue staples such as pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw, barbecue beans and potato salad. In addition, longtime barbecue fans and newcomers alike can indulge their taste buds with fall-off-the-bone ribs, chicken wings, loaded baked potatoes, smoked sandwiches and other menu favorites.

As he steps into ownership, Nguyen encourages guests to stop by, enjoy a meal and get to know him as the new local Pit Master.

“I’m really happy to be here, and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” said Nguyen. “Whether you’re new to Dickey’s or haven’t visited us in a while, I invite you to come in, try the food, meet our team and see what we’re all about. I’m looking forward to becoming an even bigger part of this amazing community I’m proud to call home.”

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in San Bernardino is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
